You Spotted Snakes is from incidental music composed by Helen Bowater for a stage production of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream.
Ensemble music: Banshee
The plaintive cries of the banshee are evoked by strings and piano. Bowater was a finalist in the contemporary section of the APRA Silver Scroll music awards with this work. (Extract only.)
Themed on the dark oceanic currents and subterranean movement of water around the planet, Bowater's River of Ocean was commissioned for and played by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. (Extract only.)
